 September Business Lunch 2010

Those attending our lunch were given food for thought and as promised a fresh approach to simple techniques in how to maximise marketing techniques for a service based business.
Opening with the question to measure the effective marketing on the P.I.T.B. meter .... the what? (Aka ‘pain in the butt’). Our ladies scoring at the higher end of the meter (the pendulum swings between Easy to OMG).

Yesim Nicholson, from My Marketing Mentor, related us all of the basic excuses we all have at times of having no plan, no time, discouraged by lack of response to our marketing campaigns. Our mutual dilemma for all is finding new customers and getting them through the door.

The finding is in the ability to enable customers to find us! Unfortunately most of us learn the hard way, spend money on seemingly ineffective methods of marketing that either hit or miss methods.

Focusing on three essential ingredients – How What Who – will allow your business to market effectively. Develop the right marketing mix. The advantage of being a Small Business owner is that - your have the luxury of being in control.

You know the What - your service/product. Do you know your target market? The Who do you want to market to. Giving simple techniques (such as track your enquiries; how did your customers find out about you?; who are your competitors?) and sample suggestions for different services all will contribute in developing your effective marketing campaign. The How to market.

With the impact of Social Media, Internet, Facebook, emails, blogs, twitter, websites, newsletters, direct mail, press, whatever the media keep momentum going by using proven methods, at the same time try new areas to test the waters and response. As the social media arena grows daily, Yesim pointed out with social media - people choose to follow you!

The ladies certainly asked a barrage of questions creating great interaction, Yesmin certainly gave a fresh ideas to our marketing campaign without breaking the bank. The check of the P.I.T.B. pendulum reduced to easy!

If you want to learn more or missed out: Yesim is running a course Wednesday 22nd Sept to register go to www.mymarketingmentor.com.au
